AUDIOSLAVE Offers 'Revelations' Today
September 5, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: AUDIOSLAVE releases its third studio album in four years, called "Revelations", today (Tuesday, September 5). The CD comes a little over 15 months after the group's second effort, "Out of Exile", and guitarist Tom Morello told Launch that the fairly quick turnaround helped make "Revelations" a better record. "I think it's definitely the strongest AUDIOSLAVE record so far," he said. "We were playing some of the best shows of our lives coming off the 'Out Of Exile' tour and wanted to take that energy straight back in the studio, first to write songs after our European tour, then we actually got to preview and rock those songs in front of North American arenas, and took all of that energy straight into the studio to make 'Revelations' and we're very, very psyched about it."
Today is also drummer Brad Wilk's 38th birthday.
The first single from "Revelations" is "Original Fire".
AUDIOSLAVE has recently denied rumors that the band was breaking up, although it has not announced touring plans in support of the new CD. The group has hinted at hitting the road in early 2007.
Singer Chris Cornell plans to record his second solo album shortly for release next year. Cornell also recently recorded the title song for the upcoming James Bond movie "Casino Royale", called "You Know My Name".
